MINIATURE SCHNAUZER RESCUE

We closed down a miniature schnauzer puppy farm network

In March 2015, Roodewal Kennels in Ermelo, Mpumalanga was exposed by Schnauzer Friends South Africa as a large miniature schnauzer puppy farm empire .  With Elmarie Celliers, the kingpin at the top doing the marketing with many other breeders contracted to supply miniature schnauzer puppies into the network.  Schnauzer Friends South Africa had it shut down.

Between March and November 2015, Schnauzer Friends South Africa and the SPCA's, 320 rescue schnauzers were rehomed into loving homes. These dogs were kept in horrific conditions outside with little human contact, while locked into the Roodewal breeding cycle.  Many were emotionally broken and needed extensive rehabilitation.

This was a life changing project for many people and also exposed the cruel puppy farm reality in South Africa. If you support puppy farms and backyard breeders you are supporting this evil trade. DO your homework before buying puppy.....

We spread our love and successes

Schnauzer Friends South Africa spread the love and our successes by assisting animal shelters.

n 2016/7, Schnauzer Friends South Africa headed up the fundraising project to raise a million rand to build a sterilisation clinic at Woodrock Animal Rescue in Gauteng. The Schnauzer Friends community raised nearly half of the money. The clinic was built and opened in 2018.  Schnauzer Rosabella Blane is the clinic patron and you will see her photo hanging up on the clinic wall.

Schnauzer Friends South Africa paid for four * 30 meter runs to be built at the Stilfontein/Matlosana Animal Shelter in Klerksdorp North West,

Schnauzer Friends South Africa have paid for a small building for Home for Paws in Lydenburg Mpumalanga to assist them in treating animals who need special care.
